Small Change, Big Difference

Today in the Hex Gambit alpha, a tiny tweak with big implications! Pillar tap Victory Points have been reduced from 2 to 1. Here’s a few goals we’re hoping to accomplish with this change:

  • Give P2 more time to come back from a big early rush.
  • Increase the minion combat focus.
  • Make move unlocks feel more meaningful.
  • Eliminate the "one mistake on turn 3, game over on turn 4" experiences.
Try a few games out, and let us know what you think of this approach!

So we have 2 FTA counters planned, but they require a bit more effort to get into the game. This change was mostly automated, so Alex just had to tweak a value.

The FTA counters are on a long list for Alex, not sure when those will hit, but they’re coming.


Oh, thanks for the clarification. For some reason my brain was convinced you just omitted that in favor of the Tap VP reduction. :joy:


Yeah my wording might’ve been misleading. This should give P2 a little more breathing room to deal with an opening rush, but it’s not our definitive FTA fix.
