For the folks that like gaming on the go, we’re also running a sale on iOS and Android where you can pick up a copy for $2.99 through July 5th!

The Gang's All Here

My game crashes on victory/loss right before the ship starts moving off screen.
Occasional random crashes despite having closed all other apps.
Probably jus my device having low RAM and hence not really fixworthy.

iPad Air 1, iOS 10.3.2

Even with all the reviews talking about all the bugs and stuff, I went on a limb and bought your game. It’s pretty awesome and you guys thought of some really great features! It is just a shame its not very playable due to all the bugs and crashing. After it being out for over a year and it going on sale when you want it to do better. it’d be wonderful if you could actually do some support for it! It seems very polished and had me not expecting any faults, but alas. Any games with friends keep freezing, lagging, and having only a minute timer to rejoin sucks. Please fix the game! Your users will totally work with you on feedback to help you find the issues! Did you guys completely abandon the game? Is there any incoming support? It’s pretty silly to advertise it for sale as is.

Sft is cool and all but You should try outwitters.

They are currently working on a new project called hexgambit. Oml is only 2 people. One is the artist and the other is the programmer. Alex is usually willing to work with people to fix any issues in a game, however the fixes take some time sometimes. It’s really just 1 person trying to work on a new game and keep 5? 6? Games running properly. Alex has the weight of the world on his shoulders. Usually if you need help with bugs or any issues you would probably want to ask Alex, but I’ll throw Adams name in here too just in case.

Ps: it might help if you listed any exact problems you are having. Is it just lag and crashing? You mentioned bugs but never said specifically what they are. You probably won’t be able to get them to change the 1 minute rejoin timer, people have been asking for a confirm end turn button on outwitters for years. Maybe you will get lucky though.

Welcome to the forums by the way, you stumbled on to a very special unique community. I’ve never been in such a great community as the one here. The forum users and outwitters players are all mature and nice. You will meet people from every different country in the world if you play outwitters long enough. I’ve made great friends with people from Australia, Italy, china, Brazil, Norway, Netherlands, Russia… the list goes on and on. Anyway, enjoy your stay.

You’re right! I don’t know how I forgot it was just two people, nor am I even fully aware on the games they are supporting currently. I wish I knew the conditions, but it seems other people in steam reviews have narrowed it down better. Sometimes when playing the cards just freeze upwards and the whole game freezes and sometimes the windows around events would go away so you couldn’t press continue to play. There was also an issue with reconnecting after having to leave which fixed some issues sometimes so thats why we kept trying to leave and reconnect quickly since theres only a minute on that reconnect timer. After I had made my post I realized that the game does autosave although I wish it would do it after every turn because I had to replay 7 turns on the save I had. It’s just mostly stuff that crashes the game rather than lag and there are other smaller issues, but the issues aren’t very bad at all when you play the local mode as it is when you play online. (Theres other issues/bugs with the game, but I can’t list them off the top of my head right now… guess I should have written them down exactly because all I can think about is the worse parts that just made the game unplayable as I don’t care about smaller errors much)

I was very surprised to see like 4.5k+ replies on a post and see these forums being active! It seems really cool and I will be giving the devs other games a shot. It’s pretty amazing what these two people have been able to do just by themselves! I just see that people are now paying more attention to Sft, but the newer reviews aren’t positive and I feel like getting mostly positive out of 80 reviews isn’t hard to flip around  I wish more people would try it! but thanks for the welcome and giving me info :]

Edit: Outwitters is a mobile game :S and I see has microtransactions… hopefully its not p2w?

I wouldn’t call it P2W. The micro transactions are all for new characters or cosmetic upgrades and the base characters aren’t bad at all.

For 10-20 bucks you got everything. It is more like P2play.

It could be considered pay to win if you buy adorables and play on reaper vs someone who is free to play and only had Scally. (You might not understand this but basically adorables are so overpowered on a map called reaper that it’s really hard for someone with scally or feedback to beat them.

Outwitters is fully enjoyable as a free download but if you find yourself enjoying it, it’s completely worth the 10-20$ to get the uber pack.

I’ll break it down the best I can from memory.

First a quick note. All of the races have the same 5 units (though they look different they all act the same.) the only difference between the races is the special unit. The 6th unit is completely unique and makes the races play very differently from one another. You might not believe that one unit can make the races play so differently from each other but I promise you the differences are huge.

You can download the game for free and that gives you access to 5 matches and the scallywags team. I would do this and play a few matches to see if you enjoy the game. It’s kind of like chess but pretty different because of the races and maps and hexes.

Quite a few players have access to all the races and still prefer to play Scallywags.

You can buy individual races I think for 4.99 each but don’t quote me on that.
Scallywags (free)

If you want me to break down the differences between the races for you I’d be happy to. Just let me know

Now the best deal is the uber pack. The uber pack unlocks all the races. I’m not sure if it includes the second generation maps but I don’t think it does.

Second gen maps are cool to have if you play a lot of friendly matches with friends but not necessary. If funds are right I’d skip this purchase. People with second gen maps can still invite you to a game if you wanted to play on them.

Base skins change the way your bases look. There are 2 skins and the standard look for each race. I’m not sure how much they cost because there have been price changes since I bought everything. It says right in the app when you click the store tab. The base skins are probably the last thing you would want to buy, only the most hardcore of outwitters fans seem to have them. I’d recommend playing the different races and seeing which one you like the most then buying one or two for that race.

If you buy anything you raise your game limit to 25 and get rid of ads. You can also purchase another 10 game slots if you are going hard on outwitters. Total 35 games. I have used all 35 slots in the past but this game is an addiction for me.

I guess if your only goal was to get rid of ads and get more game slots you could buy a single race or a skin for scallywags.

Personally I have bought everything because I’m such a huge fan. I have easily put thousands of hours in to this game. It’s by far the most value I’ve ever got from a game, so I thought I’d support the devs as much as possible.

In order of importance, I’d recommend getting uber pack, then second gen maps if you play a lot of friendlies, or the extra game slots if you find yourself maxing out games. You can buy individual races of course instead of the uber pack but you wouldn’t know which one you liked the best which is why I’d buy the uber pack if possible. The last thing to get would be skins because they add absolutely nothing except for a cool new look. Skins don’t affect the game at all.

One more thing, I think you can get put in the second gen maps if you play ranked or random friendly games. I think the second gen map purchase is purely for if you want to start matches with friends and have access to start them on those maps. I’d definitely only buy the uber pack until you have enough information to decide what else you want to buy.

ah, well thats not bad at all. I’m cool with buying games to play them lmfao Unfortunately the game doesn’t seem to want to open on my phone

What phone do you have?

Really?! I used to run it on an iPhone 4s, not sure if the updates changed anything about the necessary requirements.

I’ll try summoning the master once more :stuck_out_tongue:

I have the samsung galaxy s6

i have the samsung galaxy s6 and i go to open the game and the logo for onemanleft is there, the google sign in level circle pops up showing me where I’m at now, and it just stays on the logo. It wont open the game.

Edit: I tried reinstalling the game to no avail, then I restarted my phone and it now is working!

Awesome!! Hope you enjoy it  after you learn the basics send me an invite if you like. My in game name is the same as my forum name
