For each syllable take the number of vowels minus 1, then sum it all up. A syllable without vowel counts as -1, but the total score can’t go below 0.

That was surprisingly tricky! So there might be some obscure word where my explanation doesn’t work - oh well, good enough . I think the first really important clue was “Meme” being one syllable and therefore worth a point - I spent a lot of time wondering what makes “e” so special over other vowels
