Hex Gambit Factions

When you first boot up the league in Hex Gambit you'll have a choice to make: Neptis, Torga, or Volcan? These three factions compete in a larger territory control metagame every season, which we think will last a month each. There are leaderboards within each faction as well, so you can fight for your own glory at the same time you're fighting for your team.

Profile trophies are awarded to the winning faction at the end of each season, and to the top players for each team. You can switch factions at the start of every season, and we’re also planning some population-based bonuses and lockouts to keep everyone on even footing. We’ll tell you more about the rules of the metagame later in development. It’s designed to provide some dramatic icing on top of our usual leaderboards and skill tiers.

Want to know more about our upcoming turn-based strategy game, Hex Gambit? Stick around! We’ll be posting lots of artwork and details here weekly. If you haven’t already, be sure to sign up for our mailing list to get email reminders when we hit big milestones, like the launch of our Kickstarter, Early Access/beta, and the official release.

First season torga party!!!

#3

Should we all join the same one?

#4

That would probably be a bit overpowered haha.

#5

So basically it starts just like Pokemon

#6

I like red. Go Vulcan!

#7

Hm. Neptis for me i think

#8

I can’t choose between Neptis or Torga

#9

Neptis! Here i come!

#10

just wondering, what will the time turnouts be? A month doesn’t seem that long if it’s Outwitters type of games, where most players probably finish only a few per month.

#11

Well, I’m torn. I want to pick a faction based on how they play. But I like squid, so I’m drawn towards Neptis. But with my luck their play style won’t suit me. :frowning:

#12

The way I understand it the players belong to a faction and that has no impact on gameplay (like being team mystic/instinct/valor in Pokemon Go)

#13

Wait, I thought the factions would also correspond to asymmetric teams (e.g., different units, etc.). Is that not true?

#14

That would seem unfavorable, unless it’s just cosmetic asymmetry

#15

Okay, well if choice of faction has nothing to do with units available or whatever then I’m 100% all in on Neptis!

#16

So this factions are somewhat like clans that you have to pick to play the game right?

#17

faction choice won’t effect unit availability.

#18

Okay, Neptis it is then!

#19

Well, I love red. But a one-eyed octopus with bat-like-wing-ears easily trumps it. I think I’ll go Neptis, sorry Volcans.

Oh, and I re-read the description of the game, and I heard it say “controlled chaos”. :astonished:

I LOVE CONTROLLED CHAOS, DAS WHY I PLAY A FRIGGIN SORCEROR IN D&D FOR EXAMPLE. HEX GAMBIT IS GOING TO BE TOTALLY WICKED, AND YOU ALL SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR A REASONABLE CONTENDER!!!
